(3) Philippa Hodge – Disabled Parking for Outdoor Events

Madeira Drive Events boost our economy, attract visitors, and Item 22 Report states: “act as vehicles to bring people together”. Contrastingly, Resident/visiting Blue Badge holders reliant on actual vehicles, feel unwelcome and kept apart. Closures disproportionately impact disabled access - 27 high demand bays were lost 16 weekends this year, including 6 whole weekends. Disabled Blue Badge holders are blocked off from every event plus local attractions. We raised this back in January. Will BHCC Landlord create a Disability Parking & Access to Events Strategy to meet the protected needs of disabled people and fulfil your PSED?
